What is a reformer box, and how is it used in Pilates?

The Pilates Reformer Box is an optional accessory for the Pilates Reformer machine which is designed to help enhance the versatility of a workout by allowing for modification, and increasing the number of exercises. It helps the user by providing additional support for sitting exercises, it allows for proper alignment and stability, and it can be used by both beginner and experienced users.

ABCO Health Care’s reformer box comes with 40mm top foam and soft vinyl covering for maximum comfort.

What features should I look for in a mat assembly?

The mat assembly can be used to transform your Pilates Reformer machine into a setting suitable for floor-based exercises, allowing for focus on core strength, flexibility and overall body conditioning.

When purchasing your mat assembly you will want to consider; the thickness and material type for comfort; the texture (it’s important to have a non-slip mat with a good grip surface); the size, ensuring the mat is big enough to accommodate the size of the user; and durability to ensure long lasting use.

Can I incorporate the backbender into mat-based Pilates exercises?

The backbender functions as an additional support and enhancement to various exercises on the Pilates Reformer. It provides a gentle curve that aligns with the natural curvature of the spine, it can be utilised with the Pilates Reformer but also incorporated into mat-based exercises on the reformer.

The ABCO Pilates Backbender doubles as a seat which can provide additional support especially during pregnancy.

Core uses for the backbender include; stretching and extending for the chest and back; enhancing flexibility; core engagement activities like leg lifts; and spinal articulation exercises.

Are the ABCO Health Care Pilates Reformer accessories compatible with a home reformer, or only for studio settings?

The ABCO Pilates Fitness Reformer is designed for use in both the home and gym setting. Our ABCO Pilates Clinical Reformer is typically used for orthopaedic / neurological / hospital / physiotherapy / rehabilitation settings.

Our Pilates Reformer accessories are all designed to attach easily to both of our Pilates Reformers as optional accessories.

How is the jump board attached to the reformer?

The jump board fits with both of the ABCO pilates reformers with extruded rails, it fits easily into the brackets located at the reformer base and is locked securely by handwheels.

Do you offer bundles for purchasing multiple Pilates accessories together?
