What is the best ABCO treatment table for Osteopathy?

There isn’t a simple answer to this question, as our tables each come with their own features which can suit the needs and requirements of practices. To decide which table is best suited for you, first consider what the needs will be for the treatment, patient and practitioner.
The ABCO Chiro C Chiropractic table with cutouts, for example, has a unique feature where the cutout feature of this table allows for close proximity to the patient during treatment when treating knees, hips and hamstrings. This allows the practitioner to place less stress on themselves.

What features are ideal for an Osteopathic table?

Different osteopathic tables come with different features, and ultimately you’ll need to consider what requirements the practitioner will have as well as the needs of the patient. Here are some features to look out for.

• Height adjustability: A maximum/minimum height adjustment allows for easy access to and from the table, while providing the practitioner with a comfortable and ergonomic working area. ABCO Health Care’s Osteo tables come with a height adjustment ranging between 450-850mm, with the exception of the ABCO Osteo Table which comes with a height adjustment of 500-1000mm
• Breathing hole: Given that patients will be positioned face down on the table for an extended duration, the inclusion of a breathing hole is essential to ensure their comfort.
• Adjustable headrest and armrest: Allows for flexibility in positioning patients comfortably for various treatments. Tables with multi-position armrests or fully removable armrest allow for better access to the patient.
• Weight capacity: ABCO Health Care’s Osteopathic tables come with a lifting capacity of 300kg (The ABCO Osteo Table has a lifting capacity of 200kg). This allows for lifting of heavier patients as required
• Mobility: Retractable wheels allow for easy movement of the table as desired. ABCO Health Care’s tables come with a baseplate without wheels, with the option to upgrade to retractable wheels. For the ABCO Osteo C Osteopathy Table 75mm Braked Castors are also available.
• Cushioned padding: Comfort is important for patients who will spend extended periods laying on the table. ABCO Health Care tables are designed with firm upholstery cushioning for maximum comfort
• Safety features: Fewer pinch points where limbs can become caught are important for safety. Height adjustment to lower the table to a safe height for entry/exit will provide extra safety for the patient
• Sturdy structure: Twin column lifting mechanism on ABCO Health Care tables extra strength and safety with no longitudinal shift during height adjustment.

Is there a treatment table suitable for larger weight patients?

Each of ABCO Health Care’s Osteopathy tables are designed with a lifting capacity of 300kg, with the exception of the ABCO Osteo Table which has a lifting capacity of 200kg. These weight limits provide flexibility for a practitioner to treat patients of differing sizes comfortably.

Do Osteopathic tables come with adjustable headrests and armrests?

The headrest and armrest section of the Osteopathic table is a very important feature which significantly influences the overall comfort experienced by the patient during the treatment. Properly adjustable headrests ensure that the patient's head and neck are appropriately supported, allowing them to relax fully and maintain a comfortable position throughout treatment. Similarly, adjustable armrests provide an extra layer of comfort by supporting the patient's arms, which can help ease tension and promote relaxation. Can the Osteo table be easily moved?

There are several reasons why you would need an Osteo table that is moveable, the foremost reason being the ability to relocate the table within the treatment room to adapt to different needs. For multi purpose spaces, a fully stationary table may not be practical therefore mobility is a requirement.

The ABCO Osteo Table comes with a retractable wheel system which makes moving the couch easy, while maintaining stability and safety during treatment. Other Osteo tables offered by ABCO Health Care come with a baseplate without wheels as standard, however can be purchased with the retractable wheels. The ABCO Osteo C Osteopathy Table also comes with the option for 75mm braked castors.
