How does a cardiac/cardiology table differ from a regular examination table?

Examination tables used in cardiology are specifically designed to accommodate certain medical imaging procedures, such as an echocardiogram or to accommodate the Trendelenburg position. The main difference between a standard examination table and a table designed specifically for cardiology examinations is the cutout feature. Included in the ABCO Health Care range of Cardiac tables, the cut-out feature drops down to allow for unobstructed access to the torso.

Some of the features that you would typically see across both types of examination table would include:

- adjustable height and tilt angle

- sturdy construction with twin column structure for increased safety

- cushioned padding for patient comfort

- Moveability with a braked castor system

- Higher lifting capacity up to 350Kgs, for heavier patients

Is the cardiac table adjustable in height?

Both of the ABCO Health Care cardiac tables come with a height adjustment of 520 – 920mm, making them suitable for patient access where the patient may be disabled, elderly or have mobility difficulties. This also provides a comfortable working height for the practitioner.

The twin column lifting mechanism provides better safety to avoid limbs becoming caught in the device, while providing stability during height adjustment. Electric foot control allows for easy access and control.

Do the imaging tables support bariatric patients?

ABCO Health Care’s imaging tables include a lifting capacity of 350Kgs. This should be suitable for most situations, however if you feel that a higher lifting capacity may be required please contact us to discuss options. ABCO Health Care offers a range of Bariatric treatment tables which can lift up to 500Kgs.

Are the imaging tables mobile?

Both of the ABCO Health Care cardiac/imaging tables come with 125mm braked castors, which enable for easy movement of the tables as needed. The locking brake on the wheel ensures for no slipping or movement when engaged. The imaging tables also come with 155mm clearance below the frame, and this allows for ample room for hoist use.

Can the imaging tables be customised?

Customisation of the ABCO Health Care range of cardiac/imaging tables is available.

For the ABCO Cardiac / Ultrasound / Imaging / Vascular Tilt Table customisable options include the upholstery colour for which we offer a range of colours; the height range; tilt capacity of 200KG or 350KG; faster tilt angle adjustment; option for a backrest; upholstery width of 700mm or 800mm; and choice of hand control or additional foot control.

For the ABCO 2 Section Cardiac / Ultrasound / Imaging Couch - 2 Section the options include upholstery colour; upholstery width of 700mm or 800mm; option of foot control, hand control or IR hand control; and the option to add a battery.
